Student Council

We, the students of Colegio Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe in Puerto Nuevo, in order to organize ourselves on a fully democratic basis, placing our trust in Almighty God, ordain and establish this constitution, which will govern the purposes for which the Student Council is created.

About

The Student Council is the body that represents the student community before the Administration and Faculty. Members are elected through a fully democratic electoral process held annually through open or internal elections. The purposes of the Student Council include:

To provide a forum for student expression.
Collaborate with the administration on matters related to the student body.
Improve morale (student motivation and school spirit)
To maintain and promote the Christian principles and values of the College.
Promote harmonious relationships among all members of the institution.
Promote the general well-being of the school.
To provide an orderly flow in school activities.
Develop good citizenship attitudes.

Admission Requirements

Any member from tenth to twelfth grade may hold any position on the Student Council board, except for the presidency.
The President of the Student Council must be a twelfth grade student; if there is no candidate, it can be an eleventh grade student.
The candidate for President must have been on the Council for at least one (1) year.
Homeroom representatives must be in grades 8 through 12.
They must also fulfill the requirements set out in Article IV, Sections 5, 6 and 7 of the Student Council Constitution and receive the endorsement of the Principal and Vice-Principal.

Archdiocesan Student Council (CEA)

The Archdiocesan Student Council is a student body comprised of students from the various Catholic schools under the San Juan Catholic Schools Superintendency. It was established in 2014 with the aim of gathering the opinions and needs of students through all the Student Councils. Our school belongs to the Archdiocesan Student Council, with the participation of the President and Vice President of the Student Council and the President of Youth Ministry serving as Pastoral Delegate.
