Counseling Program
The Guidance and Counseling Program is designed to offer specialized services in academic, personal/social, and occupational/career areas. Professional counseling integrates services related to human development, holistic well-being, and a multicultural model of human behavior. Through these services, students will achieve academic goals and improve academic achievement; these services will be provided at all academic levels.
Reasonable Accommodation
What is Reasonable Accommodation?
Reasonable accommodation is any adaptation that ensures access to participate in the teaching and learning process. Its purposes are:
Match the student's needs with the action they need to take.
The adaptation must change the class or assessment to utilize the student's abilities.
It does not seek to make modifications that alter the skill to be evaluated (but rather the mediating component).
Assessment results should reflect aptitude or level of achievement, not deficiency.
Application Process
The student's guardian must notify the student of his or her need for reasonable accommodation.
Meet the requirements:
Specialist evaluation of the condition.
When should a request for Reasonable Accommodation be made?
Anytime during the school year.
It is recommended that the request be made before the student's academic performance is affected since accommodations are not retroactive.
